There was an explosive find Thursday morning in the yard of a Lexington home.
The bomb squad was called out to a home on Mentelle Park just after nine.
The homeowner says her gardener was digging in the yard when she came across something strange. The gardener thought it was a rock or clump of dirt but realized it was a grenade on closer inspection.
The woman immediately called 911.
Police responded to the scene, shutting the road down for a while.
The bomb squad examined the device and found that it was a cast iron replica of a pineapple style grenade. Police then gave the all clear.
The homeowner says she'll hang on to the grenade. She thinks it'll make a great conversation piece.
