Ladies Beware: Richmond Purse Thief On The Loose

Richmond police warn ladies to keep their purses close by or locked up. They say they're looking for someone who's stealing them out of cars.
It's been happening in the parking lots in the area around Kroger and Richmond Mall.
Police say the suspect is writing stolen checks and using the victim's credit cards. Investigators say the purse thief may be in a maroon Ford Ranger.

First of all,why would anyone be so stupid as to leave their purse with their checks and credit cards in the car, unlocked to beat it all?!The way that crime is now a days, you are just asking for someone to take it!! They will get him, just give the police time.

If you take away the opportunity for someone to commit a crime, they move onto those who make the opportunity easily accessible. Don't leave your purse in your car even if you lock your door; don't leave your purse unattended in a shopping cart. Don't leave your purse sittin in your house easily seen through a window. Use common sense and you'll keep your belongings.

MY PURSE WAS STOLEN FROM THE CRACKER BARREL REST. PARKING LOT LATE MONDAY NIGHT FROM MY CAR IN BEREA, KY. I ALWAYS LOCK MY DOORS, BUT FOR SOME REASON I THINK I FORGOT TO THAT NIGHT... MY BANK SAYS THAT NO CHECKS HAVE BEEN WRITTEN YET BUT THIS IS STILL A BAD SITUATION! I READ ABOUT THE PURSE THIEF ON THE LOOSE IN RICHMOND, BUT I THINK THE THIEF HAS MOVED ON TO BEREA!

Richmond's thefts and burglaries are out of control. My family has been burglarized twice in 4 years. We live on Barnes Mill Road and there have been two more thefts in our area in the past two weeks. The criminals have more rights than the victims. The police can't seem to do anything for the citizens who are being violated. I had to do much of the leg work for the police reports. I am not a police officer, nor do I work with the police. I still do not hear from the sheriff's dept., unless I contact them with information. I think the citizens of Richmond and Madison Co. need to stand up and demand more be done to ensure safety.
