Woman Seriously Injured In Crash

A car crash left a woman with serious injuries and shut down a busy Lexington road for hours on Thursday afternoon.

Police tell us a woman driving a white Ford Focus hit the breaks, trying to stop at the intersection of Nicholasville Road and Rojay Drive. A large truck behind her, which was hauling equipment, couldn't stop.

Police say the truck sideswiped another car and then slammed into the Ford.

The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Two other people were injured in the crash.

The accident shut down the outbound lanes of Nicholasville Road for three hours.

As Leslie has already stated, you are terribly wrong. She, while already stopped, was probably thinking about getting home to her family after a long days work. She was NOT thinking about trying to get through a redlight, because as I already said she was stopped. So the end result.....the wreck was not her fault. Do you realize how wrong and hurtful your assumptions are? Not only is she laying in a hospital bed right now unsure of her future, her family is also suffering from this terrible accident. So Rhonda, I suggest that you no longer attempt to understand other peoples' driving ethics. Maybe you should concentrate more on things you know for sure. And while you're at it, develop a heart and some empathy for other people.

No Rhonda you are wrong. The police report states that witnesses seen the woman completely stopped at the stop light when the truck hit her from behind. He couldn't stop because of the wet roads and the heavy load he was carrying. While he was trying to recover control of the truck he sideswiped another car and then hit the Ford Focus from behind. Due to his bad judgement, the woman recieved whiplash to the extreme of breaking her neck. Now she is paralyzed from the neck down. So, please explain to me why you made the comment about this accident? Explain to me why you were so sure that you know what this woman was thinking.

I'm sure she was thinking she could get through the redlight before it was completely red, then decided she couldn't, so the end result....the wreck. People just don't pay attention anymore. I do pray she is okay, but just don't understand peoples' driving ethics anymore.
