Vandals Target City Park

Police say vandals are up to no good at a Lexington park.

City officials say someone set fire to two trees in Woodland Park.

A hollow tulip poplar and a hollow American sycamore were both targeted. Officials say the trees may have been damaged so badly that they'll need to be removed.

If you know anything about the person or persons responsible, you're asked to call Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600.

Hi, I am a former Kentuckian and continue to keep up with Kentucky news. The burning of the old trees there is ironic because we here in San Diego have had about 40 large old palm trees set on fire along city streets recently. Do we have another group of nut cases who, in this case, don't like trees?
