Suspect on the Run Stopped By Homeowner with Gun

A assault suspect, who had been running from police for three days, is captured Tuesday after being stopped by a homeowner.
It happened along King Arthur Drive in Lexington.
21-year-old Eric Martin ran into Larry Carter's yard, and tried to crawl underneath his house.
Carter got suspicious, so he grabbed his gun and went after Martin.
The gun did not have bullets, but Carter used it anyway to keep Martin at bay.
Police arrived and finally made an arrest.
Carter then told them what he did to stop Martin.
In addition to his original assault charge, Martin now faces a slew of new charges, including wanton endangerment and resisting arrest.

A perfect example of citizens right to bear arms. The biggest difference between this homeowner and Mr. Carter is bullets. If he crawls under my home, call the coroner.

I'm not seeing what the cops did wrong here...what was "hard headed" about their arrival and arrest? Very lucky for the homeowner since it's just completely stupid to ever pull a gun without capability or intention to use it. Another example of lack of responsibility of gun owners and the possibility that he could have gotten shot while holding what was no more than a water pistol when not loaded.

I applaude this home owner... It is a thousand wonders that the cops didn't arrest him for wanton endangerment... More citizens need to be ready to take action like this, it would slow down crime.

I THINK MR. CARTER DID WHAT MORE PEOPLE NEEDS TO DO.HE TOLD POLICE OFFICERS TO LOOK UNDER HIS CRAWL SPACE BUT THEY DIDNT.POLICE OFFICERS WOULD NOT HAVE CAUGHT THE SUSPECT TODAY IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR MR. CARTERS THINKING AND ACTIONS. WE NEED PEOPLE LIKE HIM TO TAKE CHARGE AND HELP POLICE OFFICERS.

Typical hard-headed response from Lexington police! The home owner is lucky his unloaded weapon trick worked, if you aim at it, you better be prepared to kill or be killed.

This is another example of the need for private citizen ownership of guns. The people who are trying to ban the ownership of guns are not in touch with the real world.
