A London man is sentenced to 12 months in jail and ordered to pay a five-hundred-dollar fine.
Court officials say 29-year-old Elmo Greer of London was originally charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a four-year-old child and second-degree-assault...both felonies.
The judge dismissed the criminal abuse charge and a jury found him guilty of a lesser misdemeanor charge of fourth degree assault.
The judge probated the 12 month sentence and Greer will now serve six months in the county jail and must have no contact with the child.
