Police say she went door-to-door, soliciting money to pay for her loved ones funeral, only she wasn't really related to any of the victims.
Connie Long appeared in court Monday morning to answer to identity theft charges. She pleaded not guilty.
Police say she pretended to be related to the woman killed two weeks ago in a Washington County crash, Melanie Wise, in order to get money from people.
Wise's children also died in that crash.
Monday in court, the judge set Long's bond at $30,000. That is high for a class D felony, but the judge said Long is a flight risk.
Long will be back in court on May 16th for a preliminary hearing.
