Powell County Man Learns His Fate

A judge sentences a man who doused his step-daughter with gasoline and set her on fire.

Gordon Strange will spend the next 25-years in prison.

The Powell County man was convicted of first degree assault and 2nd degree arson.

Michele Tharp survived that attack back in February of last year. She says, now, she can finally move on with her life.

Tharp suffered burns on more than half of her body.

PEOPLE JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE. PASS THE LAW"MURDERS.."DESERVE A SLAP ON THE WRIST"..AND A "DON'T KILL AGAIN", THE LAWS AND COURTS SUCK. WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT ARE HURT OR KILLED? IF THIS HAPPENED TO A JUDGE OR LAW ENFORCER, THE "BAD GUY" WOULD HAVE BEEN PUT TO DEATH. TRUE? TRUE.

It doesnt matter if drugs were involved. It sounds like this girl had no role models. If she was involved with drugs it was due to the lifestyle she was raised around. No matter what she didnt deserve for this to happen.

She wasn't a little girl. She was a grown woman. And Joe is right....drugs were involved on BOTH sides of the story. This is the only road a life of drugs leads you down.

Hey Joe, thanks for shedding a little light on the situation. When drugs are involved people will do anything.
