Ashley Judd Now UK Graduate

Ashley Judd is now a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

UK spokesman Jay Blanton tells the Lexington Herald-Leader that the 39-year-old actress received a bachelor's degree in French.

Judd attended the university from 1986 to 1990, but left one course shy of graduation.

Blanton says student confidentiality laws prevent him from saying how she finally received her degree.

Judd told the newspaper in an interview last year that she would probably take a correspondence course to finish the one class necessary to get a degree.

When she left in 1990, online and correspondence courses weren't allowed to count toward graduation.

Her screen credits include "Kiss the Girls" and "De-Lovely."

Why is this even newsworthy? I didn't get a write up when I graduated from college... Wonder if UK will give me a Master's degree, since they appear to be handing them out now.

Who cares if Ashley Judd rec'd her degree? The way everyone treated her I thought she was a graduate....I know personally, graduates from UK who have succeeded far better than her that don't recieve the recognition. I also, think if she wasn't an UK alum she shouldn't have had the best seats in the house for ballgames- There are people (children) here in KY who would love to have the opportunity to attend a UK game- Let's get our priorities straight KY

Who cares how much support she gives to UK? She doesn't deserve special treatment and everyone should get their degree the old fashioned way; by EARNING IT! JoAnn is totally clueless. Your statement about catching a marrying a Frenchmen (it's actually Frenchman) is totally irrelevant as to how much French she knows. He didn't marry her because she knows how to speak French. She is attractive and an actress, period. There are graduates of UK who have gone on to bigger and better professions where people are actually helped by their work but they never get the headlines. She is a Hollywood celebrity and that is the only reason she is getting the attention of the media for this story. Hey JoAnn, I have an idea. Why don't we have UK give everyone who supports and attends UK ball games their final credit for graduation and they don't even have to attend class to get it. Your thinking and reasoning is flawed my dear.

As much support as she gives to UK and spends time on travel to Lexington, the least UK can do,is give her credits for that one French course. If she could catch and marry a Frenchmen she knows more than most French students.
