Toddler Found Unresponsive In Pool

A Winchester toddler is in the hospital this morning, after being found unresponsive in a pool. It happened at a home on Hampton Avenue.

Police say someone at the home found the child in the pool.

Emergency crews arrived and transported the child to Clark Regional Hospital. She was later transported to Kentucky Children's Hospital.

We're not sure of her condition at this time.

Winchester Police are investigating.

It is sad for anyone to place blame before learning any details of this tragedy. This family is hurting, the last thing they need is to feel that they were negligent (which they weren't) and responsible for what truly was an accident. Before anyone expresses an ignorant opinion, think of how easy and often a small child wanders from their caregiver, and how this could happen to anyone caring for a child. Tragically, it happened to these wonderful people, and to this sweet girl, so pray for them, don't judge them.

These are my best friends and everyone was doing what they were doing for this little girl...this child is very loved and never neglected! Sometimes accidents happen to everyone and they can't be avoided! Insteaded of placing blame, how about praying for this little girl that we may possibly lose and have a heart!

Home pools have always been dangerous, and in a case where the homeowner is not used to kids (as in visiting) they tend to forget the existing danger and the need to be aware every second. Many people "lose" a 2 year old for 1-2 minutes in their home, but there's no pool present. Give the people a break, I'm sure they're suffering.
