Search Called Off For Plane Crash

The search has been called off in southern Kentucky for a plane that some witnesses thought had crashed.

Several witnesses reported seeing the plane flying very close to the ground with smoking coming from the rear of the plane in Knox and Wayne counties.

There were reports from county officials that a military plane went down, but military officials say all planes and personnel are accounted for.

We're told the Air National Guard plane landed safely in Wayne County with 12 crew members on board.

We'll have the latest on this apparent false alarm coming up at 11:00.

I certainly dont think its fair to call names and make judgement here. Georgetown is really no different from corbin.......its all ky and we are all "hillbillies" if thats what u want to call it. However, the plane certainly didnt go down or the media would have been showing the smoke and wreckage. These people obviously thought it did go down. It must have been flying way to low. I'm sure had we been there we would have thought the same thing!

I think that the people who make these harsh comments on here have nothing better to do with their time then criticize others. Who knows if the plane went down or not, I would trust common country folk that witness an event more than I would trust the media. We as people know that the military and media are always covering up things that they don't want us to know about. Give people the benefit of the doubt, before judging.

I watched the NEWS and a lady in "Woodbine" was sitting there telling the NEWS anchors that she seen the plane go down and she also said, "I can see the smoke right now but there's no fire." I personally find this to be a very harsh prank to play and I think the reporting so called "witnesses" should be dealt with accordingly.

Air National Guard probably means it will have been a C130E or H model.

The person flying this plane should have been flying a bit higher. he went across the top of my house on HWY 459 and across the mountain towards Bell county way, way too low and there was smoke coming from his engines. It scared me really bad because I thought the large green plane was gonna hit the mountain top.If he made it to where he was going he was lucky.
