Police Say Reported Stabbing A Hoax

London Police say a man who claimed he was stabbed in an attempted carjacking made it up.

The man told police he was stabbed in the Wal-Mart parking lot last night.

Instead, police say Wesley Parsley stabbed himself and then drove himself to the hospital.

Detectives say Parsley told them he was under the influence of drugs at the time.

The incident remains under investigation and police have not determined whether to file charges against Parsley.

can all of you tell me why this is wal-marts fault and why that you are not seeing the real picture her. This is clearly a case of one drug using not clearly thinking individual that wanted to cause a stir and to receive attention.it just happens that he chose to do it in the wal-mart parking lot. it is not wal-marts responsibility to police the parking lots and people should be more aware of their surroundings when out at night. isn't their laws that allow people to carry handguns in Ky for their protection? try living in a place where it is not safe to go out in the day time hours. Just check out the crime rate in Dayton and Cincinnati Ohio areas where there is at least one shooting victim daily and children are being looked up in closets and bound with duct tape so the parents can attend a family reunion(marcus Rip) then tell me that London is not a safe town to live and shop.I will trade places any day as a matter of fact I plan on moving back to the London area in the next few months.

people here should agree to disagree . it seems so unfriendly. the guy stabbed his own dumb self . there is no need for so much drama. to put him in a lock up is stupid robert. i hope you do not work with drug addicts or pschiatric people in a hospital.

Bravo, Ms. Mel! I bet you do relax much better at night without your head up your (edited) like some of these bleeding hearts. Pray for people who make our businesses, citizens, and police take their time over a hoax? Please. He was high and stabbed himself in the stomach and he'll be high again next week.

To whoever you are...oh, yes, "anonymous"...I'm very glad that anything I could write would deeply touch you and stir your imagination and emotions deeply (dramatic). Truly, I am; and between that knowledge of stirring your emotions, and your prayers, I will surely be able to relax more at night :)(maybe days, too!!) Reiterating, however, that even with all that praying, our society is going to hell in a handbasket, and it's perhaps time to enforce laws and protect victims instead of criminals. Of course, it's easy to have mercy on people until it's YOUR family that's affected.

WOW! This whole story just makes me sick. I grew up in London, and still have my family there. London is an awesome town, and safe one. This guy needs some professional help and time to dry out...

Edna, you keep on praying for the druggies and the people who make "wrong choices". I'll keep on petitioning for stronger drug laws, better security, top notch police departments, and fewer excuses made for "wrong choices" because I live in this very real world and although I grew up in the 60's, I'm afraid peace and love and bless your fellow man is off the agenda now. I'm not going to pray for dysfunctional people who put myself and family at risk from their wrong choices, nor the parents who kill their children from those same choices, or meth lab operators, or people who take the gift of life so lightly that they stab themselves in the stomach. I will love my fellow men who attempt to help themselves and follow the rules society has in place, and pray that they continue to thrive. Stick a crack pipe in your mouth, rob my business, be drunk driving and kill my kid, or shoot my husband over $3.54, and you can go straight to hell, no prayers, no excuses, no collecting money from my taxes for your incarceration or the 8 children you've left behind. Sorry, but I'm done wasting my time on people who are destructive to themselves and the rest of our community.

For those who said our comments were cruel; I rest my case. A person who uses/abuses drugs normally get what they deserve. In this case, we're just lucky he only hurt himself.
