Police Say Stabbing Was A Hoax

Posted: Thu 6:52 PM, May 17, 2007

A London man claimed he was stabbed in an attempted carjacking in a Wal-Mart parking lot, but now police say he actually stabbed himself.

Police say Wesley Parsley told them he drove himself to Marymount Medical Center in London claiming someone stabbed him outside the Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Parsley still had the knife in his stomach as he was airlifted to UK Medical Center in Lexington.

When a detective interviewed Parsley in jail Thursday afternoon, police say he confessed to stabbing himself because he was under the influence of drugs at the time.

The incident remains under investigation and police have not determined if they'll file charges against Parsley.
