Murder Suspect's Brother Is Accused Of Threatening To Kill Judge In Case

A murder suspect's brother accused threatening to kill the judge in the Brandy Rowe says he never made the threats.

George Reed appeared in court Wednesday in Johnson County to face the charges.

State police say George Reed was at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center two weeks ago, visiting his brother, when someone overheard him saying he wanted to kill Judge Kim Childers, the judge in his brother Don Reed's case.

He is charged with murdering Brandy Rowe in December.

George Reed says he was at the jail that day visiting his brother, but says he never told his brother or anyone else he wanted to kill the judge.

In court, his attorney waived the preliminary hearing and asked for the grand jury to hear the case and decide if he should be charged.

The case is going to the grand jury, they have 60 days to review the evidence and decide if George Reed should be charged.
