Man Accused In Shooting Could Face Death Penalty

A Martin County man accused of shooting three people, killing two of them last year, could face the death penalty if convicted.

Last month a psychiatrist and a judge ruled William Starr, also known as Billy Sartin, was competent to stand trial.

Now the commonwealth's attorney has filed the paperwork to seek the death penalty.

Starr is charged with murdering Billy Proctor and Jeffrey Mattox and injuring Sue Collins.

His trial is scheduled for February.
