Counterfeit Money Surfaces Again

Police say funny money has surfaced again in eastern Kentucky.

They say people have used fake twenty and one hundred dollar bills in at least two businesses in Leslie County and they suspect there are more out there.

Police say they have persons of interest, but so far have not caught those responsible.

In the meantime, businesses are keeping a close eye on cash.

Police say counterfeit bills usually don't have watermarks.

They can have crooked print and are often thinner in texture than real money.

They say if you suspect money is fake then you should call your local police department.
