Officers Find 1,400 Pounds Of Pot In Truck

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officers
found 1,400 pounds of marijuana on a tractor-trailer during a random safety inspection.

The marijuana had a street value of just over $2.8 million dollars and was the agency's largest drug seizure, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Commissioner Greg Howard said Wednesday in a statement.

The truck was stopped Sunday night on Interstate 65 near Bowling
Green, the statement said.

Kermit Garriques, 48, and Uriel Bell, 42, were arrested and charged with marijuana trafficking and possession of narcotics.
