LONDON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Division of Forestry firefighters are headed to Florida again to help battle fires. Yesterday, there were 110 separate wildfires burning over 100-thousand acres.
In May, the Kentucky provided 22 firefighters and ten engine units. The newest group consists of five two-person strike teams, five engine units and one strike team leader.
They left this morning from the U-S Forest Service in London. The Kentucky teams are expected to be assigned to fires in north central Florida.
