Man Killed When ATV Hits Car

An eastern Kentucky man riding an ATV struck a car and was killed after losing control of the four-wheeler, state police said.

Ralph Moore, 21, of Inez, was riding on Kentucky 1714 on Saturday in Martin County near Pilgrim when he went into a curve and lost control, police said.

Moore's ATV crossed the center line and struck a Chrysler sedan,
state police said.
No one else was hurt.

Moore was pronounced dead at the scene by Martin County Coroner

I am related to the girl driving the car and the really bad part is that Ralph Moore was her cousin. Her mother was in the car with her also. So yes she feels really guilty about what had happened.
  • by What Shane Said Location: Lex on Jun 11, 2007 at 05:54 AM exactly right. Now the person who drove the car is feeling guilty when in reality, they did nothing wrong. It's no wonder Kentucky leads the nation in ATV deaths...they don't know how to read the instructions!

He had no business on a highway on an ATV. They are not made for nor licensed for on-road riding. The police should arrest anyone caught riding these things on the highways, because no one should have to live their life feeling like there was something different they could do to avoid the accident that happened and killed the ATV driver (always kills them) when it wasn't their fault, it was solely the ATV driver's fault for being on a roadway.
