A guilty plea in federal court for a former eastern Kentucky judge.
Court officials say Doug Combs pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud.
The former Perry Circuit Judge was facing 36 counts of mail fraud after being accused of submitting fraudulent bills to a state agency to get money for himself and others.
Combs also allegedly hired temporary workers to free up his regular office staff to do personal work for him.
Combs resigned in 2004 while facing misconduct charges.
Combs will be back in court on September 6th to be sentenced.
He faces up to 20 years in prison.
