Car Accident Kills Two People Including A Pregnant Woman

A car crash in eastern Kentucky kills two people including a pregnant woman.

Police say 24-year old Jami Whitaker of Hazard was driving on Kentucky 80 Wednesday morning just outside Martin, when her car slammed into the back of a coal truck.

Witnesses say she was speeding and couldn't safely pass the truck.

Whitaker and her boyfriend, Neil Fugate, who's also from Hazard, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the coal truck was not hurt.

My prayers & thoughts go out to her parents, friends & family. God bless her father who is like a second father to me. Jamie was always such a nice girl & I remember when I was younger I always wanted to be like her & dress like her, I always looked up to her as a friend & a role model when I was in Middle School & even when I got in High school with her, she was a Senior & I was a Freshman. She's left behind a wonderful host of family & friends & I hope God carries them through this rough time. I know Jamie & Dana (her brother who died a while back) are being reunited as we speak, they've been apart too long.
