Vandals slash tires on more than 20 vehicles

A cruel crime on Christmas Eve has ruined dozens of people's holiday plans.

Vandals went to work early Thursday, slashing the tires on at least 23 vehicles near downtown Lexington surround East High Street.

The damage stretches from Woodland Avenue to around Rose Street.

Police say it appears the vandals, or vandal, walked around and cut tires on every car in sight.

Police say they hit the 200 block of Arlington, the 100 block of Easy High, the 300 block of Grosvenor and a few were hit on Kalmia near Rose Street.

While police were responding to the calls, officers found fresh blood on one of the vehicles.

A Lexington Police I.D. unit responded to the scene to collect a sample to try to determine the person responsible for the crimes.
