Woman Attacked While Unloading Car

A Lexington woman says she was attacked in her own home.
It happened on Cromwell Way in the Man O'War, Nicholasville Road area.

A woman told police she came home Thursday and was unloading her car in the garage, when she heard a noise. Within seconds, she says a man attacked her.

She says he continued to hit her in the face while she was screaming and fighting back. He eventually took off, without taking anything.

A friend of the woman says she believes the man was going to sexually assault her.

Police are working to put out a composite sketch of the suspect.

It is UNBELIEVABLE that our society has come to this. Drugs are the root of all of this in my opinion. If our police forces can remove the drug issues then people may be safe once again. Even in your own home you are not safe. I cannot ensure my childrens safety at home, school, or out in publc. What do you tell your children? It makes me very sad. I do hope that this lady recovers in full. May peace be with her & her family.

In addition to having a gun and knowing how to use it, I would advise people to have an indoor dog. They are wonderful companions and they can warn you of intruders and alert neighbors.

It is terrible that we can't go shopping without having to be afraid of getting attacked. I am at the point that I take my husband with me. Even considering taking a gun along. What are we going to do?
