PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Professional basketball is coming to eastern Kentucky.
The Continental Basketball Association will award an expansion franchise to Pikeville. The team will be called the East Kentucky Miners and will play their home games at the East Kentucky Expo Center.
Kevin Keathley, an eastern Kentucky native, will serve as the head coach. The team is owned by Trinity Sports & Entertainment co-founded by former Miami Dolphins quarterback Jay Fiedler.
