KY Senators Vote Against Immigration Bill

Kentucky's U.S. senators helped stop an immigration bill in congress, saying they had gotten thousands of messages from Kentuckians.

Both Senators Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning voted "no" to revive the bill.

McConnell had been tight lipped about how he would vote, but in the end he said it didn't have support in Kentucky or the rest of America.

McConnell says it was the part about legalizing millions of unlawful immigrants that doomed the proposal.

Kudos to McConnell & Bunning. I think McConnell finally recognizes he will have to earn his reelection next year. KY voters are keeping a close eye on him!!!

I am very happy with this result. Now, we did to tighten the borders some more, track down the illegals, and deport them. I am starting to be more aware of my surroundings when it comes to immigrants working. I wonder what the procedure is if a person suspects someone is working and living amongst us illiegally.

I felt this was the right thing to do. I emailed both of the Senators and Rep. Ben Chandler and asked them to vote to stop this bill. It is not good for Kentucky and will only help to hold the wages of our state down. I asked that they approve supporting the LAWS already on the Nation's books and to export the illegals. Kill this bill and write a better one in support of present laws. By the way, this was not Pres. Bush's bill as some have said but he did support it.
