Escaped Inmate Has Been Spotted In Eastern Kentucky

Police in eastern Kentucky say an escaped inmate has been reported in the area.

Anthony Artrip, who escaped earlier this week from the Grant County Jail and his nephew, who police are also looking for, were spotted in Ashland by the child of a woman who knows the men.

Artrip was serving time for bank robbery in two states.

a police scanner is a lot of fun. interesting things happen. what would be helpful to everyone would be some sort of exclusive Kentucky cable channel dedicated to making the criminals public. the wanted pictures and descriptions would give full publicity. thousands of eyes would be able to sight the criminals. it would be quick and sweet to nab the bad guys with the help of heightened visibility. law enforcement would not be tied down chasing down criminals they already had brought in for justice. keeping criminals in check is an encouraging aspect for police and citizens. citizens love it when the police can do a bust. communications and mass media shine the spot light on the bad guys. the shadows are removed from the criminal when there is transparency. there is no where to run ; so the bad guys should stay put in their jail cell.
