Boy Killed After Father Runs Over Him

A 2-year-old boy eastern Kentucky boy was killed today after walking behind a truck as his father was backing it out of the driveway.

Police say Rodney Carpenter of Owingsville did not see his son, Rodney G Carpenter, as he was backing his Ford pickup down the driveway. Police say the boy walked behind the right front wheel and was struck by the vehicle.

The boy was found unresponsive and pronounced dead by Bath County coroner. No autopsy is planned and no foul play is suspected.

i cant even imagine the pain that rodney and mary are going through,i had one of their sons in pre-school and he is a great kid. these people are good parents and now they will have to be strong for their other children. god will give them the strength to go on if they will only lean on him and give him the burden to carry.that terriable day will always be with them and i will pray for them. mary saw this happen to her baby and my heart goes out to her as well as rodney. god now has a new little angel and the family has a new gaurdian angel to watch over them. god bless you all with lots of love

Rodney is highly thought of by my family at this time. He and his friend Rodney N. have helped my mother and step-father numerous times with various home and vehicle repairs. I know he is a very caring person and humble. I woke up many times Sunday night with Rodney on my mind and all I could do was pray for him each time. I know this is going to have an effect on all of his family and friends, but with God's love and compassion, support from everyone, and Rodney and his wife's love for their other children will get them through this. Trust God and allow Him to walk you through this valley.
