Search For Missing Four-Year-Old

Police have scaled back their search for a missing 4-year-old Louisville boy so they can focus on credible tips on the boy's whereabouts.

Cesar Aguilar-Cano was last seen on Friday afternoon in front of the apartment complex his family lives in near Churchill Downs.

More than 200 officers, firefighters and neighbors searched for the boy over the weekend, posting signs in both English and Spanish asking for help in locating him.

Neighbors told police that Cesar was a curious boy who would sometimes run around the apartment complex unsupervised. It wasn't uncommon for the Cesar to go inside open apartment doors.

An amber alert has not been issued because police do not believe the boy was abducted.

Cesar is 3-feet tall and weighs 40 pounds. He was wearing a yellow tank top and gray shorts at the time of his disappearance.

I too pray that this little boy is found safe. I would love to know why this does not constitute an amber alert? How can they assume he has just wondered off and not even consider that he has been abducted? I also agree that parents should supervise their children but the comment by Heather is taking it too far. Do I have to say, what if it was your child? How guilty would you feel for that few seconds, minutes you were not supervising them. Are you going to lock your child up in the house and never let them out of your sight? The parents are going through enough right now including feeling guilty. Give them a break!

Parents need to start watching their kids and providing better supervision, especially these days. Something such as this happens and then the parents wonder why this happened. Well its because you wasnt supervising your child or at least thats what it sounds like. If they were abducted while under your supervision then this would be different. If a child is abducted due to not being supervised then the careless parent should be charged with endangering a childs welfare.
