The search continues in Russell County for a boater's body.

Rescue workers tell 27 NEWSFIRST 36-year-old Mark Sawyers of Russell Springs went missing Saturday night, in the Dudley Creek area of Lake Cumberland.

Please note that the last name of the missing person is Sayers, not Sawyers. I'm sure his mother would appreciate this being corrected. I only hope he can be found. I know his mother appreciates all the help that everyone has given in the search.

There are many rumors and unclear details floating around the county regarding this. I am told by various sources that the search for Mark on land has been very minimal and in my opinion not near enough. Someone mentioned there was a land search covering an 100 foot area. (This would be slightly longer than a mobile home.) I have not heard of scent dogs being used to track him. If there was a chance that he jumped out of the boat he may have swam to shore and traveled into the woods. I don't imagine running through the woods at night would be practical, but you have to keep in mind that he was in an accident. Therefore, probably would not have been thinking rationally.
