A fiery crash kills two people on a rural road in Bourbon County, but police are having a hard time identifying the victims.

Police say a two people were traveling west on U.S. 460 just west of Centerville when the driver ran off the road, hit a tree and burst into flames.

At this time, the victims have not been positively identified because they were so badly burned. The coroner will use dental records to make the identification.

I have to travel 460 to Georgetown everyday because I work there. The road needs to widened because of increased travel over recent years due to more jobs and businesses in Georgetown than Paris. The same circumstances surround 460 between Paris and Georgetown as it did with Lexington Road/Paris Pike between Paris and Georgetown and the resolution was to widen it to four lanes. The same needs to be done now to 460.

I will go far out of my way to avoid traveling 460 from Paris to Georgetown. It is a treacherous and dangerous road. Cars travel at high speed. There are many blind hills and curves. Add to that, the road has no berm. The white line is the edge of the road. If you leave the road you will immediately either hit a stone fence, telephone pole, tree or deep, deep ravines. The speed limit needs to be reduced and guard rails need to be placed in particularly deep drop-off areas.
