Lexington Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Boyfriend

A not guilty plea from a Lexington woman, accused of killing her boyfriend.

Police say Dana Gilliam stabbed Timothy Roseberry after an argument at the couple's home in the Eastland Trailer Park.

Gilliam's family claims it was self-defense because Roseberry was abusive, but his family says both were abusive.

On Friday afternoon in Fayette County court, Gilliam had a not guilty plea entered on her behalf.

to the people who know dana:can you explain her mental stability with or without drugs? I was under the impression she was living w/ her family. Is this not the case? If so that would give a whole new meaning to her leaving.

THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM EVERYWHERE. I LIVE IN ORLANDO, AND WE CURRENTLY HAVE A FEW CASES JUST LIKE HER'S.LUCKLY IN KENTUCKY YOU HAVE GOOD HEARTED PEOPLE THAT CARE ENOUGH TO HELP YOU. NO ONE SHOULD ALLOW THEMSELVES TO BE ABUSED, BUT EVEN THEN YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO KILL A MAN. MAY GOD HELP YOU IN YOUR TIME OF NEED.

I think before we pass judgement on the living or the dead we should get a full picture of what happened. Its easy to say that if it were an abusive relationship she should have just left but realistically physical abuse and mental abuse really aren't that easy. Compund that with drugs and alcohol and youhave a dangferous mix. I'm in no way shape or form condoning what happened to Mr ROseberry, and feel that Ms. Gilliam should be tried, but this isn't murder, there is obviously no premeditation. It happened in a particularly violent moment.. Does any one know if Ms Gilliam has any history of Violence..We'll find this out at trial..My heart goes out to the families involved, and i hope that in the long run Ms. Gilliam cleans up her act.. She'll be dead before she's 40 if she doesn't.

No one who doesn't understand the draw of crack and the desperate measures people will go to to obtain it, nor the paranoia if they believe it's stolen or withheld from them, should comment on this case, period. Both these people were abused by CRACK because they chose to abuse it. That they chose to continue that lifestyle meant one or both of them would end up one of two ways: dead or in prison. In this case, it looks like one got death, and one will go to prison. This is the ONLY end result for users of crack. How long it will take is subjective; that it will end one of those two ways is a definite.

Defending your self is one thing, but when you stab someone in the chest and they turn and try to get away from you and you stab them three more times in the back no thats is not self defense. That is murder! She took a life now she needs to pay for what she did.

and No Lesa your wrong Not just someone who has never been in an abusive relationship would say this... I am on disability today from being abused .. My life was almost destroyed by an abusive man.. I went thru mental and Physical abuse .. and If I had to choose having one over the other it would be the Physical Abuse .. so No Ive been there done that but without the Drugs being involved Dana and Tim both were very heavy Drug Users/chasers and Acoholics... I donot uphold either one of them But I donot agree with she should be proven NOt guilty or to be able to walk away Free... She took the life of a father / Son / Brother etc.... She had NO RIGHT she was as much at fault and she did her share of Starting and provoking the fights when there was acohol and drugs involved many times when Tim couldnt hustle up the money for the 3 second high as they call it ... they would fight she'd throw him out etc... So Know the Facts before Laying blame .... Both are at Fault.. and This comes from SOMEONE THAT HAS BEEN IN AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP .. BUT I CHOSE TO GET OUT

Lesa you are Wrong.... looks are decieving dear ... There are some women who Can fight back NOONE DESERVES TO BE MURDERED..... REGARDLESS there was ways for her to get help why didnt she go to a womans shelter if she was so scared blah blah if he Kept coming back... She apperantly wasnt to afraid or Guess what?? She wouldnt have stayed where was easy access .... They Lived together... and I can tell you Dana was far from being afraid of Tim....... Such ashame The blame is laid on a Dead man... If it were the other way around had he grabbed something and Killed her when she was coming at him with that Steak knife in his defense ... trying to defend hisself from the Knife and being stabbed and Hmmmm she be laying at this moment where he is ... Then what would ya have to say to that .... HANG him Give him Life/Death Penalty etc ... correct?... if the tables were turned and He tried to defend himself from being stabbed then what?? I say GIVE HER what she Deserves She was Much at fault as he was I KNOW THEM PERSONALLY!!!!!!

Only someone that has never been in an abusive relationship would think this person should be charged.Even if both parties are abusive a MAN is always the stronger one.I don't blame her....not one bit!

they were not married right ? no kids to bind them together ? i wish one of them or both would have just walked away from the relationship so this would have never happened ,it seems as though it was a tragedy waiting to happen .
