Two Kentucky Kids Win National Bible Bowl Championship

Kentucky is in the bible belt and a couple of young Kentuckians used their knowledge of the good book to win a national title.

10 year olds Alivia Bierly and Colton Thayer are the pride of Tollesboro, Kentucky after winning the recent Bible National Championship in Kansas City.

The two began competing in the beginner division, and continued to improve once they got to Kansas City.

Most of the competitors in Kansas City were part of 4 person teams from much larger churches, but Colton and Alivia were determined to put Tollesboro on the map.

Only when they came home did their achievement sink in. They tell us it was a shock for them when they won the nationals and were really excited.

I agree with Mark! So much in the news is negative and depressing. It is nice to see some deserving kids get their 10 seconds of fame! Congrats to them both and all who participated.

I applaud you for reporting this story of both a small town group of kids doing good and the relationship to the Bible. Lexington and Kentucky need more of this type of news.

Congratulations to these two!!! It is good to see youth who take the time to learn God's word--learning that has the power to impact their lives, as well as the lives of those who meet them--for eternity! Keep up your studies of the Bible--and hide this Word in your hearts!! I have given a prayer of thanks for the two of you, and for your success! Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
