Fire Destroys Lexington Home

More Video...

A police officer and a witness spotted the fire early Friday morning at a home on Uhlan Court, off South Broadway near Red Mile Road.

We're told a mother and her two children live at the home, but weren't at home at the time.

When the police officer and witness arrived at the scene, they knocked on the front door of the home to see if anybody was inside.

They couldn't go inside because the fire was so bad.

Neighboring houses had to be evacuated, but weren't damaged.

No one was injured.

The investigation into what caused the fire continues.

Thanks to Lexington Fire department. My mom was in one of the homes evacuated and I found out this morning from second hand news. With phone lines being down to her house, I had no way to contact her. I called the fire department and spoke to John Davis, who personally went to her house and called me from her living room. This brought much comfort to me and my sister in Texas, as we had no idea about her well being. She has a lung and heart disease and his in poor health. Mr. Davis also called to have her phone restored.
