Parents Donate Daughter's Organs To Cincinnati Hospital

CINCINNATI (AP) - A Cincinnati hospital received a record organ donation from the body of a 14-year-old northern Kentucky girl who died in an auto accident last week.

Heather Lynn Evan's family chose to donate seven of the girl's organs in order to create something good out of a tragedy. It's the most ever for the Children's Hospital Medical Center.

The donation will benefit six people facing life-threatening diseases, LifeCenter Organ Donor Network spokeswoman Andi Johnson said.

She would not specify which organs the girl gave.

Evans' died Tuesday, a day after a tractor-trailer carrying steel plates ran a red light in Alexandria, Ky. and broad-sided the pickup truck carrying Evans, her mother and her brother.

The driver of the truck who ran the light should have to visit all 6 of the kids who received the gifts from this girl. He needs to look at the joy on their parents faces then immediately take him to see the sadness on the faces of the Evans family. Nightmares for the rest of his life!!!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. My daughter is 5. Her best friend received the gift of life as an infant. He is now almost 5 and a half. His family is thankful for the donor family every day of their lives for the opportunity to watch their son grow. He is an amazing young boy. We are thankful to have him in our lives. May God bless you and give you comfort in knowing how many hundreds of people you have blessed by giving the gift of life to 6 other children. I will remember you in my prayers.

To be able to think of others at this time is truly a most unselfish act. May God be with this family now and in the future.

Just a hard decision to make but a wonderful gift for another to receive. Six other children has a real life angle. May God bless the children receiving this wonderful gift and that they go on into life and do something wonderful with their lives. I hope they remember the little angle that upon her death saved their lifes...

Children are a gift from God, we may not always get to keep them as long as we want to but we are blessed by the time we do. Thank God for parents such as these, i'm sure their daghter is so proud to be able to help 6 more children live. To the parents my prayers are with you and remember 1Thess.4:13-18, this should help comfort you.
