Workers At A Nursing Home Demand A Contract

Workers at an eastern Kentucky nursing home are demanding a contract.

Prestonsburg Health Care Center employees picketed outside the building along with members of the Service Employees International Union.

Workers say this is not a strike, but an informational picket to build support for better employee benefits.

Workers at the nursing home voted to unionize last august, but have been unable to reach a contract agreement with the home's owner.

A negotiator for the owner, home quality management, says contract talks are making progress... but those picketing say it's taking too long.
