15-Year-Old Drowning Victim Identified

We now know the name of the 15-year-old boy who drowned in the Licking River.

It happened near the Milltown Community in Nicholas County.

Chris Watkins apparently went under while swimming with friends.

Another teenager tried to help, but couldn't save Watkins.

Emergency crews spent three hours recovering the teen's body.

Investigators believe an under current in the river may have pulled the boy under causing the drowning.

To Anon...no wonder you didn't leave you name. how could you come on here to smear a persons name. It don't matter how "known" a person is, Upon death you do NOT try to deface a person. Shame on you. How about your name...is it clean. He didn't deserve to die regardless how "KNOWN" he was. God Bless the family and friends of the teen. May he rest in peace.

This is a sad situation, but there are several questions that make no sense. From what the media has released, the family called the police not knowing he was dead. Where was the wife??? Plus, and I mean no offense or disrespect to the family, because I know some of the family, they are nice people, but well known he was, but it was not all good. He was a polite man, but some things from the past was not good.
