Car Crashes Into New Circle Road Barrier

Police on the scene of an injury accident on Lexington's New Circle Road say an accident could have been much worse if it weren't for a new median barrier.

A car over-corrected earlier Friday morning and hit the barrier.

That median was damaged.

State workers are on their way to fix it.

I'm glad the barriers were installed. Too bad it's taken this long but at least they are there now and will help prevent fatal wrecks in which motorists cross into the opposite lanes. I back those barriers 100%

People have really complained about the "look" of the barriers!?! Just another example that some residents of Lexington aren't ready to let the city grow up. After living all over the U.S. and some foreign countries....it always amazes me, that some Lexintonians are still, so unwilling to take the steps necessary to allow this great city to develop into what it needs to be. They want everything that a bigger city brings but refuse allow the local government to protect the people as the town grows! It's sad. Who cares what the barriers look like, they work and they're proven in States all across the U.S. Suck it up Lexington.
