Whitley County man killed in early morning crash

Corbin, Ky. - A 41-year old southern Kentucky man was killed in an early morning crash on a rural stretch of road just south of Corbin.

Kentucky State Police identified the victim as James E. Collette of Rockhold. KSP Trooper Gary Martin responded to the single vehicle crash on KY 1064 three miles south of Corbin. Officials say the vehicle -operated by Collette- careened off the road, overturned in a ditch and came to rest on its top.

Collette was pronounced dead at the scene by Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley. Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Trooper Martin is continuing the investigation assisted by Trooper David Lassiter and the Whitley County Sheriff's Department.
