Pain At The Pump Eases

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Energy Department says it'll be a little less painful filling your gas tank.

Gas prices have been falling the last couple of weeks, and the Energy Information Administration expects them to keep sliding through the end of the year.

It expects the average price of a gallon of regular will be $2.64 in December.

That would be almost 60 cents less than the peak of $3.22 in May.

The agency's latest report points to increased gas production as a reason for lower prices.

I think thats good. The gas prices have been absolutley ridiculous! I have family in Whitesburg and I can only afford to see them once a week because gas prices are so outrageous! And since its going to be Christmas time I need all the gas I can get because I have to go to 6 different places all over Harlan and Letcher Co.
