Northpoint Escapee Back In Police Custody

The search is over in Danville for an escaped prisoner.

Guards at Northpoint Training Center in Danville say they noticed 19-year-old Billy Pennington missing around nine o'clock Tuesday night.
Pennington is now back in custody.

Officials say Pennington was found at around 7:15 this morning hiding behind an air condition unit and never breached the main perimeter of the prison.

Kentucky State Police and Northpoint authorities continue to investigate the incident.

Pennington was serving a five-year sentence for attempted kidnapping in Laurel County. He was eligible for parole in October 2008.

That GUARD has a real chip on his/her shoulder, get over it! Do your job and keep the inmates or what other pc name you want to give them in the big house. "Dare you question my authoritI"

I have an issue with the word "Guard" used in the story. There are no guards in Prision, they are Correctional Officers. There are very few people that have any respect for the officers that work in a prison, and with the television stations using the word "Guard" does not help the public realize what all is involved in the job. Please for future telecasts give the Officers, both past and present respect and refer to us correctly by using the correct job title, Correctional Officer. Even the terminology may help give us a little respect for both the Officers and the public for what we really do in a Prison. Thank you
