Shots Fired Into Lexington Home

More Video...

A Lexington family gets a rude awakening when shots are fired at their home. It happened on Chiles Avenue.

Four shots were fired into the front door of the home. The bullets shattered the door.

A woman, her husband, and her son were inside at the time. They weren't injured.

The family says they're glad her other son wasn't at home because the bullets traveled through the door, and into the room where he would have been sleeping.

Neighbors who heard what happened say the believe the shooter was on foot, because they never heard a car pull up or take off.

No arrests have been made.

It looks like that police program to keep Mexicans in soccer is reducing crime all over the city. Maybe we should give the city another medal or something for making it safe for us to sleep in our homes at night. Newberry needs to let our police officers do their job.

i grew up in lexington,i now live in mayfield kyas of 1 year ago my family ALL still live in lexington, i subscribe to e-news on line i've just read the shots fired into lexington home, my first thought was, it has to be in east or westend or maybe out in the suburbs, you know the areas where the inner city familys were moved to to get them out of the downtown area or as the city government would call it "an upgrade to better the community" don't get me wrong but why is it the inner city is so sterotyped? is it the people or thew poverty levels they are raised in?when all you have is what you see then all you'll see will be dim. yes we all can overcome but only by a higher power. i personally had to caal on jesus christ doing things "my way" lead to half my life in prison i'm 41 yrs. now has much of societys i'lls changed since being in mayfield? no only the people and places, have i changed since being in mayfield?, alot of me has but only by the grace of christ jesus, try him, he hear u
