Search Continues For Mother Of Abandoned Baby

The search for the mother of a newborn baby found on the steps of a Boyd County Church continues.

Police want to find the woman seen in surveillance video at a nearby grocery store where she called 911.

The little boy is only two or three days old.

The mother could face criminal charges since the child was left on the steps of an empty church in 95-degree-heat.

In Kentucky, the law allows mothers to leave their newborns at police stations or hospitals without fear of prosecution.

This is terrible. She may have been trying to abide by the law to leave the baby. However, she did it in the wrong way. It was inhuman to leave a baby in that kind of heat. I wonder if the baby will be up for adoption. I seen that he was possibly born on my birthday thought that was ironic. He is so cute and needs someone to love him. My husband and I have tried to have a child for years. We would love to have the chance to give this little guy a great life he deserves.

Check the local crackhouse. You'll probably find her there.

Why would anyone do this to a baby. In the heat we have had for the past few days I am suprised this baby is alive. There are thousands of couples out there who can't even have children, I'm sure this mother could have found this baby a good home. I hope the baby is doing good. God Bless.

I think that this mom was trying to do the right thing. "In Kentucky, the law allows mothers to leave their newborns at police stations or hospitals without fear of prosecution" This law should be better publicized so that moms in desperate situations know where to turn.
