Sunday May Get Tapped For Alcohol Sale In Lexington

Lexington City leaders are discussing a proposal that would allow alcohol sales on Sunday.

The change would affect wine, beer, liquor, and package sales at liquor stores, bars, all restaurants, and grocery stores. Councilman David Stevens says he plans on introducing the ordinance next week.

Beginning Sept. 2, Richmond residents will be able to purchase alcohol on Sunday in restaurants taht seat more than 75 people and get most their proceeds from the sale of food.
