Trial Will Likely Stay In Powell County

Posted: Wed 12:21 AM, Aug 15, 2007

New information about the case of a man accused of killing an eastern Kentucky police chief.

Attorneys for Jamie Barnett say they do not plan to try and get his trial moved out of Powell County.

Barnett is accused of shooting Clay City Police Chief Randy Lacy while in the back of his cruiser.

His attorneys state in court records that they do not have sufficient evidence that Barnett can't get a fair trial.
