Stabbing Investigation Underway In Lexington Neighborhood

Police say it appears a man was randomly attacked outside his Lexington apartment Wednesday morning.

The man was walking his dog at Glen Eagles Apartments on Polo Club Boulevard when a man jumped out from behind a trash can and stabbed him, police said.

K-9 units as well as Lexington's Police helicopter are searching the area for a suspect.

The man refused to be transported by ambulance to the hospital, but told police he would drive himself to the doctor.

I don't know if anyone is aware of where you have moved to. If you were so concerned about your neighborhood being bad and you wanted to live in a nice area maybe you should have researched it. FACT: There are 27 registered sex offenders in zip code 40509. Two of those registered live in your neighborhood (Market Garden and Polo Club). I wonder if your neighborhood association (that you pay for) told you of this. And to let you know none of these sexual predators live in the apartments.

We are planning to move to and buy a house in Lexington later this year. The homes in Gleneagles are great (heck, I can buy 4 of them for what I pay here in South Orange Co California) Is this an area I should avoid and if so, can someone point me to similar style homes within Lexington in the $200-$350 range. please!!! We are looking to purchase in late Sep/early Nov.

Can someone please publish the names of the developers of this subdivision? The one/ones who changed the 'luxury apartments' to section 8 housing in order to get a tax break? This is what the homeowners association and the individual homeowners need to know. The names of these people who misrepresented EVERYTHING about what Gleneagles was supposed to be and have caused people to LOSE the value on their biggestinvestments need to be public knowledge and they should be help accountable for their actions in any way possible - even if it is only in the court of public opinion. I for one want to know their NAMES.

Sue, How can you defend the posts on this site and say that the homeowners are not blaming the residents of the apartments??? And I quote: "I do care that these varmets have already destroyed property, toss trash out of car windows, prowl the streets all hours of the night, stolen from unlocked vehicles." "There are people that do things for themselves in life and there are people who take from others. When you mix these two types of people in the same geographical area it just does not work." "LET ME ASK ALL YOU LOW INCOME, LIVING OFF MY TAX DOLLARS, WE ARE NOT ALL CRIMANALS, PEOPLE A QUESTION. DO YOU FEEL THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE IN A NICE NEIGHBORHOOD WHILE YOU ARE LEACHING OFF TAX PAYERS" These are just three of the many examples of the blatant bigotry toward the apartment residents.

I really do not see myself living in Gleneagles for more than 5 years. I did plan to live here a lot longer but the low-income apts is going to drive everyones property value down. Just imagine in 10 years how those apartments are going to look. I am not blaming anyone who lives in the apartments. It really was a stupid idea to build them in front of a large neighborhood anyway.

I don't think any of the Gleneagles homeowners are "blaming" the residents of the apartment complex for the attack. I am reading into to this, as the neighborhood seems very upset about the complex being there to begin with and this may be the only way to express their concern and to be heard. I do agree that a tax credited apartment complex should not have been built there as there is not one in Andover, Masterson Station, Tuscany and so on. The Hamburg area is supposed to be an up-scale area and when something like the Gleneagles Apartments are built, I can see their frustration. I also don't think they feel like they are better than you BUT they are just trying to protect what they OWN. When you rent you have no value in your apartment that will be given back to you when you move. For some homeowners, this is the only savings that they have and if their property value declines then that is not fair to them. Just try to look at it from the homeowners perspective as well.
