Shot Fired During Home Invasion

Lexington Police are searching for a robber who fired a shot during a home invasion. Police were called to the Raintree Apartments on North Locust Hill just before 11:00 Thursday night.

Police say a gunman, with his face covered, knocked on the door of an apartment, and robbed the four people inside.

During the robbery, the gunman fired his weapon once. The bullet hit an object. No one was injured.

The robber got away with some cash.

Nah...I've been a recent victim of ghetto-style crime and I'm finally sick of it. I live with this silliness around me and watch the police do pretty much nothing. I'm hoping some of my comments might stir a little debate or thought. We've all (myself included) have become too complacent and are too happy to turn our heads.

You obviously have way too much time on your hands, meaning, commenting on every story. So what perfect crime free side of town do you live on?

I've lived there two years and I feel safe there. The only people I see walking the streets are either walking their dog or visitors who park at the front of the property and walk back to the apartments they are visiting. If Raintree is ghetto, Race street is Heaven.

how is Raintree a nice place to live? It's like a ghetto place with people out on the streets in little gangs at all hours of the day and night. A variety of burlaries are happening there (just check the crime section of the paper). I know I'd avoid living there.

Now the manager says they will not let scared tenants out of their leases. We must still give a 30 day notice and pay two months of rent on top of that to get out of our lease. Don't they understand that single women feel unsafe now. That they are scared. They should just let us go.

Raintree used to be such a nice place -- but now it seems like it's full of drugs and problems.
