Lawmakers Head Back To Frankfort

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Lawmakers have returned to Frankfort to begin debate on an energy bill. The plan is intended to lure a three-billion-dollar coal gasification plant to Kentucky.

House Majority Whip Rob Wilky says the first hearing on the measure is expected to begin tonight and continue through Wednesday.

Wilky says the plan is for the House to vote on the bill on Wednesday and send it to the Senate for consideration.

The measure had been caught up in an election-year political squabble that nearly doomed it. House and Senate leaders were able to hammer out a tentative agreement after weeks of closed-door negotiations.

Governor Fletcher had included the issue on the agenda with several other items when he called the General Assembly into a special session last month.

I HOPE ALL THOSE WHO VOTE COME NOVEMBER SEE THAT CALLING THIS SPECIAL SESSION IS COSTING US LOTS OF MONEY.THIS MATTER SHOULD'VE BEEN DONE DURING THE LAST GENERAL ASSEMBLY, WHICH IS WHY WE HAVE LAWMAKERS BACK EVERY YEAR INSTEAD OF EVERY OTHER YEAR.THIS PAST GENERAL ASSEMBLY ,FLETCHER WAS SPENDING OUR MONIES IN ANOTHER STATE NY.AND THE BUSINESS HE WAS DOING WASN'T ABOUT US.HIS STRATEGIE WAS TO WAIT TILL THIS TIME TO GIVE US THE IMPRESSION HE'S DOING SOMETHING BIG FOR KY. I ALSO BELIEVE HE'S GRANDSTANDING RIGHT BEFORE KENTUCKIANS EVICT HIM FROM THE MANSION.HE'S DONE,STICK A FORK IN HIM.BESHEAR IT ,FLETCHER NOT IT.LET'S ROLL.
