Boy Escapes Possible Abduction

Was it a prank or something more sinister?

A middle school student claims he was nearly abducted after getting off the bus last week in Georgetown.

The sixth grader at Royal Springs Middle School gets home at around 4:00 on school days.

He says when he got off the bus at the corner of Cumberland Drive and Nantucket Court, he was approached by four men who jumped out of a moving vehicle. He says the men tried to grab him, but were then scared away.

Witnesses say the men were in their late teens or early 20s and were in a white or silver SUV or van.

Police are now investigating and the school is also looking into the incident. Police have stepped up patrols in the area.

Some have said it could be a prank, but the boy's parents disagree. The claim their son didn't know the men who approached him, so they are taking this very seriously.

The boy's father says if the men are caught, he does plan to press charges.

GPD couldn't solve a puzzle even if the answers smacked them in the face!!

Darlene , I agree this is a serious thing. I believe that Rick was commenting on the effectiveness of the investigating abilities of the GPD. Unless the crime is happening right in front of them, they couldn't solve it.

I think that the parents should go for whatever they can get off of this "prank". I hope that it was a prank, but I think that they need to make everyone aware of how serious this is and prosecute to the fullest. I can honestly say that I would if it involved my chldren.

Prank or not, those young men should be charged when caught. In today's world, there is no room for this type of "prank"! I hope they find them.
