They say they just want their kids to go to school and be safe.
Some Breathitt County parents say that dangerous roads have them worried.
Some Breathitt Countians say winding roads and low tree limbs are making driving in a Breathitt County neighborhood dangerous.
“If they can't see around the curves they don't know to get off the road so the bus can come by safely,” Mary Baker said.
Baker has three students that ride the school bus every day.
She and other parents worry about the safety of they children and all drivers on these roads.
Some parents contacted Breathitt County Schools attempting to fix the problem.
“Safety is always our top priority, safety for our students, but solving the problem is actually the fiscal court's job,” Breathitt County Superintendent Arch Turner said.
The Baker family contacted the county judge executive with no response.
Scott Baker then took the matter into his own hands and did what he could to help the view.
“I took my weed eater and my pruning poles and cut the curves out so the bus drivers can see around the curves,” Scott Baker said.
“A lot of close calls in this road. A whole lot. Too many! One of these close calls is going to turn into a major accident if something's not done,” Mary Baker said.
These dangerous roads still have parents on edge.
When WYMT contacted the road Foreman Monday, it was the first he had heard of any road problems.
The county road crews were out Moday afternoon and clear the view along many troubled roads in Breathitt County..
