Drug Store Robbery Suspects In Custody

The search for two suspects involved in an armed robbery is over.

Police captured the men believed to be responsible for holding up The Medicine Shop in Nicholasville

Two men are in police custody after police say they robbed the medicine shop, took off, and were cornered near a house just 4 blocks away.

As employees opened The Medicine Shop in Nicholasville, they say two men came in, pulled a knife, and implied they had a gun. The men demanded drugs and after the employees handed them over, the two fled in a teal Ford Escort.

Police located the getaway car in a neighborhood about 4 blocks away from the drug store. Police surrounded the house, and were eventually able to take the two men matching descriptions given by witnesses into custody.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Nicholasville has a lot of great people. I love living here. We also have great restaurants, food, and parks. We just need greater help weeding out the bad persons. I'm upset that someone on that block didn't report the obvious drug activity sooner. Maybe this would not have happened. We have to be watchful neighbors. there is nothing wrong with caring! Nicholasville has a lot of great things going on, that's why we all care enough to comment and help change the negative.

I would like to say to GERALD in Nicholasville, not all parts of Nicholasville are trash. I happen to live in a very nice area there. It is bad in a lot of areas, but NOT EVERYWHERE has become that bad. You do have to pay a whole lot more money if you want to live somewhere nice, but if it is going to happen then it is going to happen. If you don't like it then you need to move somewhere where there is not any running water or Wal-Mart.

Why are we surprised that young people take drugs to make themselves happy, when we spent all their growing up years doing everything possible to make that happen? By giving them everything they want and making excuses for everything they did, we created a whole selfish generation that expects to feel good all the time at anybody's cost.

I have to agree with Gerald. Nicholasville has become one big cesspool. I am very disappointed in our drug enforcement in this town. Having lived in Nicholasville my entire life and attended school here I personally know one of the guys arrested. There is no amount of rehab that could help this guy. Its a way of life. Like it is for SO MANY in Nicholasville. There is not a neighborhood in Nicholasville that dont have drugs in it. I live in an upscale neighborhood in Nicholasville and a neighbor was recently pulled over and charged with DUI and possession of controlled substance. Somethings got to be done!

Joe, if you live in Nicholasville, you live in a bad neighborhood. It has become the ghetto of Lexington. Too bad they didn't catch these guys in the act, would have saved taxpayers money. You can't go anywhere in Nicholasville without being surrounded by trash.

Joe, The house that they are talking about is on Longview Drive. It is not far from the city park or the animal shelter for that matter. It is not a bad neighborhood, but it was just a bad issue. I think that most of the areas in Nicholasville are not that bad, but you are going to have crime anywhere you go.

I don't blame you one bit Beth. I live in the neighborhood as well and I was scared to death when they talked about them being on the loose. My kids and husband were home and I was working all of the way in Lexington. I was a nervous wreck all day until I had heard that these people were apprehended. I think that we need a lot more police reinforcements in our neighborhood and we should make sure it happens. There are too many children roaming around for these drug addicts to be out on the loose.

REHAB REHAB REHAB These kids need help!!! Can you see it?? Somebody do something, they have their whole lives ahead of them. Someone care enough to show them that there is more to life than being high all the time. Someone offer a glimmer of hope for a brighter future. Please, before it's too late.
